Kristin graduated from the University of Maryland in College Park with a bachelor’s degree in history. She spent six years in the US Army, and while serving in the military, she deployed to Iraq from 2004 to 2005 to support Operation Iraqi Freedom. After an honorable discharge from the military, Kristin joined the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), where she currently works as a detective in South LA. Kristin’s experience as an LAPD officer has reignited her passion for photography. After twenty-three years of serving the country and then the city of Los Angeles, and with her enthusiasm renewed, she came back to her passion for storytelling, photography, and visual arts. In Fold, Kristin shares not only her artistic vision, but also, the stories of people she met along the way because she believes everyone has a story to tell.
